Talking About the Future of Education Spaces at AltSchool

Recently, the IIDA hosted a panel discussion on new spaces for educating children called Institutional Forum: Back to School 2.0.

When you think of a school it might conjure images of a classroom with rows of desks all facing a chalkboard, where the students are taught the same way with a set schedule to learn subjects in a certain time frame. But what happens when you add in a technology start up to the education model? You get the AltSchool, modeled for individualized education. 

A+I’s Peter Knutson and Sommer Schauer joined a distinguished roster of speakers including AltSchool’s Head of School Alex Ragone and Sara Grant, partner at Murphy Burnham & Buttrick Architects, the educational consultant on the project.
